Early Years at Roe Green Infant School
Nursery
The Nursery Class caters for 40 children in the morning and a further 40 in the afternoon. Morning nursery children can attend from 8.30 am until 11.30 am. The afternoon nursery children can attend from 12.30 pm until 3.30 pm. However, all children must be at registration either 9.00 am if attending morning nursery or 1.00 pm for the afternoon nursery.
It is staffed by one Early Years Teacher, a Senior Teaching Assistant and a further 3 Teaching Assistants. The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. It aims to provide an inviting and stimulating environment where play, exploration and practical activities provide a foundation for all learning.

Reception
Brent Local Authority is responsible for selecting pupils for our Reception classes. Parents are
invited to complete a common application form and return to the local authority by the specified
deadline.
We currently have 4 Reception Classes at Roe Green Infant School and 1 Reception Class at Roe Green Strathcona School.
Pupils are offered a place in school based on the following criteria:
• Looked after children
• Children with Special needs
• Current sibling connection
• Catchment area
• Children living outside the catchment area
Pupils experience learning through a wide range of activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
In the Early Years there are 7 areas of development
