Everyone at Roe Green Infant School knows that one of the main priorities for parents is their child’s educational well-being. Your continued role in helping your child with their knowledge and understanding of all aspects of reading, writing and mathematics is very important and we value the support that you give.
With your child having just moved into a new year group, the learning in these areas can be complex. Over the next few weeks, we will therefore be holding workshops via Microsoft Teams (virtually). The workshops will be on Phonics, Reading (including guided reading and comprehension), Mathematics and Writing (including spelling, punctuation, grammar and handwriting) for parents with children in Year 1 and Year 2. At each workshop sessions, we will explain the different approaches used in the teaching of these subjects.
It is hoped that you will be able to view these sessions and find out how you can help your child at home.

We had lots of fun at the workshop! We made clay divas, straw and rice fireworks, mehndi patterns and we coloured in Rangoli designs too. We even did a Diwali counting activity.
